One credit is equaivalent to one hour of compute on a Small instance. Credits are used when running jobs or building models on the Canvas. If you need a larger instance to work with larger datasets, you spend credits faster.
Think of credits as fuel for a car. You only use credits when the car is running. With Less, you only use credits when manipulating data.
